I dunno on iPhones, but in any other phones you can do that
of course, it’s pricey:(
I have done that myself:)

Go to an AT&T store and ask about it
I’m pretty sure you can do it

I lost my iphone and then found it but it said that I needed to plug it into itunes. I did and then it said no sim card D: so I got through that and now I just set the language and country and just set it to my wifi but then it asks me to put in my sim card AGAIN D: please help me!! how do I get past it this time!??!?!? D:

if your iPhone 3GS on 3.1.3 firmware, there is no tool to unlock it Right now, and if your iPhone stay 3.1.2 you can try this-first choice tool Blackra1n, and here is the step by step guide

i accidentally restored my iphone using itunes9. The phone is locked to the AT&T network and I do not have an AT&T sim card. Is it possible to complete a jailbreak and unlock now? Itunes keeps asking me to insert a sim and the phone is only allowing emergency numbers to be called…

Before now there were only standalone apps available to get this effect. Since the release of iOS 5 it has now been integrated within the framework and now you can switch to the Emoticon or “Emoji” keyboard right on the virtual keyboard in your messages! This is leaps beyond the trouble it was to make this happen. Who needs an “app for that” when it’s built right in. That’s right Apple is totally doing everything right, giving us what we want.
