i want to buy an iphone 3g but my job gets a discount thru Verizon wireless. how can i unlock the phone for use with this company?

If you buy one outright you are entitled to get it unlocked for free. First of all I would check to see if Verizon is an apple authorized carrier, that way you won’t have as many hassles trying to get GPRS/WAP settings onto the phone.

Ok so I am very confused about how to unlock an iphone to use with tmobile. First can i unlock iphone without jailbreaking it? Can somebody please explain in great detail how to unlock iphone 4 to use with tmobile. I just bought the iphone 4 for full retail price. (AT&T version) What do I do next, like where do i get the unlock software? How do I unlock it? and how do i just make it work?

Geohotz has just released purplera1n RC2, (purplera1n.com this is an updated version of purplera1n that fixes many bugs and errors. It also gives compatibility for Vista, Windows 7, International, 64-bit support. A Mac version has been released. Winterboard still DOES NOT work so please don’t install it. If you installed the first version of purplera1n and is experiencing issues (wifi, errors, cydia issues) then you would want to run purplera1n RC2 on your iphone or if that still doesn’t help then you should restore your iphone and install 3.0 firmware from apple and run purplera1n RC2 from a windows PC. This is a step by step tutorial on how to update and jailbreak/unlock your iPhone on 3.0.1 firmware. The firmware is almost the same as 3.0 cept for fixing up the sms vulnerability. There fore I will be using the same method as for the 3.0 jailbreak using redsn0w 0.8. You will first need to download these 2 files.
