Question by : How can I still get edge or 3g Internet access while talking on the phone?
Most of the time when I’m talking on my iPhone I don’t have Internet access and I can see that I don’t because I use my earphones when talking and can still use my screen. I just want to know how to still get edge or 3g while I’m talking on the phone.

The iPhone, like all EDGE-capable devices that I’m aware of, does not support simultaneous voice & data while you are accessing the EDGE network. It’s a limitation of the technology used… and there’s no way around it.

On the flip side, the iPhone DOES support simultaneous voice & data if you are connected via WiFi or 3G Data (UMTS/HSDPA). One of the key advantages to AT&Ts 3G network over the EDGE network, is that the 3G network allows voice&data at the same time, whereas the EDGE network does not. When you’re connect via WiFi or 3G, you should be able to use data while on a call automatically… there isn’t anything special you should have to do to configure it.

So the short answer:
If you’re on EDGE, there’s no way to do voice/data at the same time.
If you’re on WiFi or 3G, it should work automatically.

Question by : How can I get internet on my iphone using my home computer?
My home computer has internet but my brother likes to use it most of the time is their a way I can get internet on my iphone 3gs?I have the usb cable and my iphone is jail broken. My home computer is not a laptop

Thank you.

I don’t have WIFI.

Answer by Corvato
you would need to get a USB tethering app for the phone and for the PC
that, and the short length of the cabling, make this impractical

i would recommend just going out and buy a $ 30 usb to wifi adaptor for the PC, then you can use your iphone anywhere in range

Question by Fady Y. S.: How to combine internet LAN and 3G connections together in one added up speed?
I have 2 internet connections; one through LAN and the other is through a 3G modem. How to combine them together in one connection with summed both speeds?

Best answer:

Answer by Ben
You can’t. It’s the way the Internet is set up. A connection to a website is tied not to a single machine, but to a single address (which means a single Internet connection). Actually, Torrents might be able to use both interface since they work by opening multiple connections anyway. The same goes for programs downloaded using Akamai’s download manager (which Adobe uses for their downloads)

I’m planning to buy an iPhone. But before i do that i need to find out if the iphone can view every website just like the one on the computer. Does Safari support all websites including JAVA and flash players. Can i view Youtube and pics and other videos on the Iphone using the interent website? One last thing how long does it take for a page to load?

Answer by NeetuGoesRawr
YouTube is on the iPhone. You can’t view like Java and flash things though.. I guess you’d have to download them and I’m not sure if you can. You can see pictures there and any Youtube videos though.
The pages load pretty quick for me, but it depends on your internet connection speed.

Question by James K: Is it possible to utilize the 3g network from my iphone to connect to the internet on my PC laptop?

I just got the iPhone and I’ve been looking into this. What I’ve found out is that you need to jailbreak your iPhone in order to install the app that allows you to tether you iPhone to your laptop. I have not jailbroken my iphone yet but from what I’ve read, it’s pretty easy and there is no down side to doing it. It allows you install third party apps that are not available in the app store.

Question by Mike: Do you need a data plan with an iPhone if the sim card you are using now has unlimited internet?
I am planning to buy and iPhone, but don’t know if I need a data plan. I’m gonna use my current sim card that has unlimited internet. I don’t wanna get charged extra money just because I don’t have a data plan. Anyone have an answer?

Best answer:

Answer by ddominic
You would need another sim card. A T&T iphones uses a smaller sim card then the regular A T&T cell phones. The sizes of the sim card are different. No matter what you would be require to get a data plan. Plus with A T&T there are no more unlimited plan for the iphone. Only 500MB or 2GB of data internet plan for the iphone.

The Apple iPhone

iPhones are simply amazing. They function as a camera phone, including text messaging and visual voicemail, a portable media player, and an Internet client, with e-mail, web browsing, and Wi-Fi connectivity. The user interface is built around the device's multi-touch screen, including a virtual keyboard rather than a physical one. Third-party applications are available from the App Store, which now has well over 200,000 "apps" approved by Apple. These apps have diverse functionality, including games, reference, GPS navigation, social networking, and advertising for television shows, films, and much more.
