Question by : What is the difference between bsnl 3g data card and mtnl 3g data card ?
What is the difference between bsnl 3g data card and mtnl 3g data card ?
Pls tell me also that what is the tariff of internet usage on a mobile phone with sim of mtnl

Best answer:

Answer by Neha
BSNL stands for Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd.
MTNL stands for Mahanagar Telecom Nigam Ltd.

MTNL service is provided only in the metros …. like delhi … bombay … kolkata ….etc…. but on other parts of india you will find service of BSNL …..

In an attempt to provide greater benefits to the GSM mobile users of Mumbai and Maharashtra telecom circles, both state operator Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Ltd (MTNL) and Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) has introduced Local Tariff and FREE Roaming for the entire Maharashtra and Goa State including Mumbai Metro circle for their pre paid and post paid GSM mobile service subscribers.

your texting will work, although your internet will NOT… Why dont you just call apple and activate the data plan since you’re already spending the money for a plan any way…..

Question by Sadf A: If you unlock an iPhone and use another carrier can you use data?
I downloaded blackrain and it gives me the option to unlock it for use with other carriers. I feel bad now, could I have just bought an iphone without a plan and put my sprint contract on it and only paid 30 bucks a month? Can you still use data and the app store and everything if your not at and t?

Best answer:

Answer by James H
Yes, you can still use data, because that will be provided by Sprint, and you can use the App Store, because that’s provided by Apple. AT&T have no control over that.

Any iPhone in the world, with any carrier in the world can use data and access the App Store. AT&T doesn’t have a worldwide exclusive on the iPhone.

I finally got around to creating a video for my tutorial on how to restore your jailbroken iDevice (ipad, ipod touch, iphone) as new and still be able to keep your saved games. Here is a link to the thread I created over at ModMyi on how to do it: modmyi.com The reason you would want to restore as a new iDevice is because junk builds up when you are jailbroken. This can cause battery life problems, slow apps, and crashes. I recommend restoring at least every two months if possible. This tutorial makes it a lot easier to do so. The requirements for this is a jailbroken iDevice that will also be jailbroken after the restore. You will also need to either SSH or use iPhone Explorer to gain root access to your device. iPhone Explorer: m.macupdate.com You may also need to download “afc2add” in Cydia to allow for accessing your device’s root files through USB.

Air Video is a pretty cool solution to playing video on an iPad, iPhone, or iPod Touch. Rather than taking up valuable storage on the device, you can use Air Video to stream video.

Question by Mike: Do you need a data plan with an iPhone if the sim card you are using now has unlimited internet?
I am planning to buy and iPhone, but don’t know if I need a data plan. I’m gonna use my current sim card that has unlimited internet. I don’t wanna get charged extra money just because I don’t have a data plan. Anyone have an answer?

Best answer:

Answer by ddominic
You would need another sim card. A T&T iphones uses a smaller sim card then the regular A T&T cell phones. The sizes of the sim card are different. No matter what you would be require to get a data plan. Plus with A T&T there are no more unlimited plan for the iphone. Only 500MB or 2GB of data internet plan for the iphone.

Question by ali z: How to turn off 3g Data on the iphone?
I’m planning to buy and iPhone 3G from ebay, but i don’t plan to have a data plan for a few months. Now what I’m scared of is that I’ll accidently browse the internet on the 3G signal instead of WiFi, causing me to receive a huge bill for it from AT&T.

Is there a way to turn of 3G data, yet keep the calling and wifi features on at the same time via setting or something?

Best answer:

Answer by Jessii; Is mee (:
You can turn off 3G altogether, and talk on the EDGE network, but depending where you are and what plan you’re on, that might incur roaming charges (I can’t say for sure – I live in Australia – But it would depend on your network).
Or there is this unofficial solution: http://www.ehphone.ca/2008/07/how-to-disable-data-on-your-iphone-or-iphone-3g/

The Apple iPhone

iPhones are simply amazing. They function as a camera phone, including text messaging and visual voicemail, a portable media player, and an Internet client, with e-mail, web browsing, and Wi-Fi connectivity. The user interface is built around the device's multi-touch screen, including a virtual keyboard rather than a physical one. Third-party applications are available from the App Store, which now has well over 200,000 "apps" approved by Apple. These apps have diverse functionality, including games, reference, GPS navigation, social networking, and advertising for television shows, films, and much more.
