This is a step by step walk through video on how to jailbreak and unlock your iPhone 3GS using Redsn0w. The Dev Team said Winterboard works but I have not confirmed it myslef, If you installed using purplera1n just update in cydia and it will also work. I recommend using redsn0w over purplera1n because it’s more stable with less error issues. If you have never jailbroke your iPhone 3GS then you can simply download redsn0w and 3.0 IPSW from the links below and skip to 2:10 in the video for the step by step tutorial. This is a step by step tutorial on how to update and jailbreak/unlock your iPhone on 3.0.1 firmware. The firmware is almost the same as 3.0 cept for fixing up the sms vulnerability. There fore I will be using the same method as for the 3.0 jailbreak using redsn0w 0.8. You will first need to download these 2 files.
