Question by Forgive: Why can’t I jail break my iPhone?
I just restored my iphone and now it does not work for t-mobile. I want to jail break it but i have tried all the programs, pawn and red snow and ibrick and all the rest but for some reason it does not work. Zi phone seemed to work but for some reason it says my iphone isn’t connected but itunes says it is. i reinstalled itunes and restarted my computer and the iphonebut it still does not work. I need the phone but now it does not work and i was hoping one of you knows how to help me? ANY help is appreciated !

No, you need to jailbreak the Iphone to be able to get the installer to be able to get nes on the iphone.hope this helped!

this Christmas im considering buying my son an iPhone. he wanted a brand new phone and a new ipod touch so i figured if i can buy him an iphone it saves me a great deal of money. right now i have a pay as you go plan from t-mobile for my son because he doesn’t need a fancy and expensive plan. can i jail break an iphone 4s? (and aniphone 4 and iphone 3gs for that matter) and still keep my service with t-mobile? i cannot afford an expenside AT&T, verizon or sprint plan.

Unfortunately 4.0.2 cannot be jailbroken/unlocked yet. That is the only reason Apple released that firmware version was to stop the exploit that was allowing the devices to be jailbroken. You will have to wait until 4.1 is released and then you will have to wait until a jailbreak is released for it.

you can use redsn0w to jailbreak your 3G on iOS 4.2.1. if you want a guide with pics, check out my source, and begin at Step Three since your phone is already on 4.2.1.

First of all, jailbreaking an iphone does not mean you can use it on other carriers. Unlocking an iphone is what you would need to do.
Unfortunately, you can only unlock an iphone to be used on t-mobile, not sprint
